This 1947 cover shows another interesting post-war cancel, “Save for the Silver Lining.” Apparently it was encouraging Britons to conserve resources and save money to help the British economy recover from the war and create prosperity, the silver lining of the dark cloud of war. This cover is also an example of the use of the printed paper rate to the United States.
