The third pane contains a block of four of the two commemoratives issued
for the anniversary. One pictures Machin and the other pictures the first Machin stamp
issued, the 4d olive brown sepia. These stamps were also featured on the
souvenir sheet. The value of the four first-class
stamps at the time the booklet was issued was £1.36.
To the left of the pane is a picture of Machin at Harrison and Sons, the
printer, reviewing the stamps as they are printed.
The caption is:
Arnold Machin at Harrisons examines the first sheets of stamps off the press.
