April 23, 2010: The new postage rates have been posted in the news section along with an article on the new Machins.
April 10, 2010: New postage rates effective April 6, 2010 have been posted on the GBCC site here and here.
March 20, 2010: Also in the better late than never category, the GBCC interview with David Beech, Head of Philatelic Collections at the British Library, has been posted on the GBCC site.
March 8, 2010: Better late than never (I hope!), the super-secure Machins issued early last year are pictured in their multi-colored glory. Also described and shown are the hidden codes. And, last month I sneaked in an article about parts of the Royal Philatelic Collection that can be seen on the web site of the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
September 25, 2009: The full group of colors developed by Jeffery Matthews for the Machin series has been added to his interview.
September 19, 2009: Within this year’s four (!!!) prestige booklets are a whole lot of new Machins.
September 14, 2009: Now you can join the Great Britain Collectors Club right here!
May 9, 2009: New Machins and regionals were issued for the April 6 rate increase. The British Postal Museum & Archive recently opened an exhibit featuring the work of David Gentleman. There’s also an online display of the work and a nice (free!) downloadable document to go with it. The news is here.
February 24, 2009: More information on upcoming GBCC meetings is here, and the postal rates pages have been updated with 2009 rates.
February 21, 2009: After Ireland achieved independence, the Irish post office didn’t think much of philatelists.
February 10, 2009: Royal Mail has introduced a new program called Sustainable Mail to reward large mailers for following environmentally sound practices.
January 23, 2009: Last year, Royal Mail celebrated the 50th anniversary of the regional definitives. This year, postage rates take a huge jump.
